Carolina Hormaza

Carolina Hormaza

Carolina Hormaza is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Ibero-American History, and a member of the Center for Inter-American Studies at Bielefeld University. She finished her PhD in History at Bielefeld University, with a thesis on German geographical knowledge production on agrarian colonisation in Latin America in the mid-20th century. Her research interests include global history, particularly the continuities of German colonialism in development ideas, and its entanglements with Latin American agrarian and environmental history. Carolina has also researched agrarian history and armed conflict in Colombia throughout the 20th century, as a researcher at the Colombia Historical Memory Center and at the German Agency for International Cooperation, among other institutions.
